Say hello to Mae, the graceful belle whose elegance is unmatched in the wild.
Mae lives on the Etosha Heights Private Reserve, adjacent to the iconic Etosha National Park in Namibia, and was added to our individual giraffe database in 2019. Mae exhibits unshakeable grace, moving with a composed, fluid rhythm across the landscape. Her slightly bent left ossicone gives her a cheeky look that perfectly matches her personality. Mae’s presence is a reminder that the height and sheer scale of giraffe require profound, continuous balance and composure for daily survival.

Introducing our daydreamer, Dobby, the gentle master of composed contemplation.
Dobby (HSBM044) is a young male desert-dwelling giraffe who roams far and wide across the vast desert plains of northwest Namibia. Dobby is frequently observed pausing in moments of quiet stillness, a behavior that reflects the giraffe's need for constant vigilance. His long-distance journeys require sustained focus and resource memory, turning the time spent traveling between locations into active mental mapping of the landscape. Dobby's quiet nature serves him well in his quest to find his two favorite things: food, especially Ana trees, and prime watering holes.
